GLOBE 2010

GLOBE 2010 was the 11th event in a series of biennial conferences and trade fairs on the business of the environment. From March 24th to the 26th, GLOBE 2010 brought together government decision-makers, corporate executives, and environmental technology innovators from around the world to discuss current trends and showcase technology solutions to the world's environmental problems. Trade Fair; 3 Plenary Sessions; 10 concurrent sessions daily over three days; and social functions.

InnoVasion

Reliance Properties Reception

Guests enjoyed hors d'oeuvres, beverages and prizes while viewing static and video images of Reliance Properties' most recent and exciting developments.

8th World Conference on Sport and the Environment
March 2009

Every two years, the International Olympic Committee in collaboration with the United Nations Environment Programme hosts a World Conference on Sport and the Environment. The conference brings together the worlds of sport and environment to share knowledge and advance practices related to sport and its relationship with communities and the environment.

Last March 29-31, the 8th World Conference on Sport and the Environment was held in Vancouver, Canada with a theme of 'Innovation and Inspiration' and a subtheme, 'Harnessing the Power of Sport for Change'. Olympic athletes, corporate and environmental leaders, and producers of major sporting events were there to share their expertise on how sport is embracing the challenge of reducing its environmental footprint for social, economic, and environmental benefit.

A new event for business, presented by the Vancouver Economic Development Commission, innoVasion was launched in November of 2008 as Metro Vancouver's contribution to Global Entrepreneurship Week. Despite very little time to put the event together, it was an event the city was waiting for - it was a success and is now an annual business event.

GLOBE 2008
March 2008

GLOBE 2008, the 10th & most successful GLOBE event to date, hosted over 10,000 Delegates for three days in the Vancouver Convention & Exhibition Centre. In addition to the main conference and trade fair programs, the GLOBE Foundation hosted the Annual GLOBE Environmental Awards of Excellence, produced by MACI Conventions, for over 500 dinner guests in the Pan Pacific Hotel's Crystal Pavilion. As usual, the momentum of GLOBE attracted over 200 satellite events hosted during "GLOBE week" by Partners and co-hosts of GLOBE.

World Urban Forum
June 2006

World Urban Forum, WUF III, was the third session in a series created by the United Nations. The Government of Canada hosted the event, which took place in Vancouver from June 19-23 2006. Rapid urbanisation and its impact on communities, cities, economies and policies were the most pressing issues explored at this biennial gathering. Meeting together were representative from a multitude of different non-government organizations, community-based organisations, urban professionals, academics, to governments, local authorities and national and international associations of local governments.
